

Dr. Matthew Devereaux is a Professor and Human Development Extension Specialist in the Department of Family and Consumer Sciences at the University of Tennessee. He received his undergraduate degree in Psychology from the University of Georgia and his master’s and PhD in Child & Family Studies from the University of Tennessee. In his current role, he is responsible for proactively developing, implementing, and evaluating programs and activities that support state-wide outreach through UT’s network of Family and Consumer Science and 4-H Youth Development Agents.
In 2019, Dr. Devereaux was presented with the Excellence in Extension national award sponsored by the Association of Public and Land Grant Universities (APLU). His current areas of expertise include early childhood education, parenting, afterschool programming, childcare center programming, mental health education, social & emotional learning, trauma-informed workplace practices, and work-life harmony.
